The 24 hour service beside the hotel made the stay more comfortable. You also have laundry in the services besides.

The bathroom in the room was extremely dirty. The floor was full of hair and cut nails. There were beards in the sink. There was hair in the shower. I took pictures of all of them and showed them to the receptionist. She said it was disgusting and she would definitely have it cleaned. When we returned to our room in the evening, we saw that the room had not been cleaned and took the same pictures again. The first morning, we saw two ladies cleaning the room passing by the corridor. They were sitting in another room chatting. They also had a vacuum cleaner on so that people would think they were cleaning. It was shameful. I think it was an uncontrolled hotel. We were definitely not satisfied. Also, the receptionist working the night shift never volunteered to help us when we asked for help with the wifi and did not give any directions. Since the hotel is located on both sides of the highway and has the same postcode, they first told us that we were on the wrong side and directed us to the other side with a piece of paper and directions. However, getting in and out of the car with all our luggage and belongings was definitely very tiring.

Visited as it was a cheap-ish stay in the middle of a long drive. Several big and small issues: 1. Unable to lock room from the inside. As a single female traveller, this was important for me. However, when I asked at the desk, I was told that was normal and there were no other rooms available. 2. Bathroom was grubby - sink and tap were dirty, with the enamel peeling off the bath leaving a hole. Toilet leaked. 3. Towels not clean - covered in curly black hairs. 4. Hard to find at the services - no signs from - have to drive through the HGV parking till you find it (with the fear that you’ll end up back on the M4 having missed it). 5. Felt like walking into the 50s. Rickety stairs and floors. Rooms all have a key, no electronic security on rooms. 6. Kettle had mould on the inside.

Hotel is run down you might go through the floor upstairs feel sorry for anyone on the ground floor as floor boards are noisy my room smelt was not clean fresh bedding but that was about it the kettle as u will see on the vid is the worse I have ever seen hotel staff reaction to it was shocking as there was no apology just do u want a new kettle

You know what you are getting with a Travelodge - standard rooms and the staff always cheerful and helpful. This one quiet despite being near the motorway. Pleasant walk to St Margaret of Antioch church less than a mile away, look out for deer in the fields. Travelodge allows dogs so always gets our vote. Interesting shell-sandbank just behind the lodge.

EDIT Have visited since post below and carpets now replaced. Still good value... Have stayed at this hotel many times as its convenient when visiting our son in Bath and much cheaper! However as other reviewers have said, it really does need some work doing the carpets are very old, the corridors are shabby. In spite of this the rooms are clean and have everything you need and powerful hot shower! Staff very helpful and friendly. Basic accommodation and good value for money and fine for an overnight stay. Not for you if you like everything looking smart

Disappointed paid the saver rate and then after an hour my shift got changed so I call to say I won’t be attending they said the refund is not acceptable even without me checking in at all. It’s usually expensive travel lodge (unless they keep the prices like £30-£35 a night otherwise you’re better off with booking.com.

We weren't expecting great things from a motorway-side hotel but it did the job. Had to go the reception to ask for toilet paper as there was less than half a roll in the bathroom when we got there. Also when we arrived the bedroom windows had been left open with the lights on which meant we had to deal with several daddy-long-legs which had let themselves in! Ok for one night but glad we weren't there longer.

Location was ideal for doing some work in the Bath area...but also within a couple of minutes to the M4 and to head into London. Friendly staff on accomodation. Great to see that there were USB points for charging devices. Real irritating when there's a 3 pin socket half way across the room, but USB points on both sides of the double bed. The family room comes with a camp style single bed and there seemed to be an additional mattress under the double bed. Didn't do the breakfast box... just used the shop or fast food places inside the services building. It's outdated. The room also had a strange smell.

This was an emergency stop due to me being unwell 😫 and still 2 hours from home. I was a little early checking in, and after I explained to the receptionist Josh he went above and beyond he let me check in offered to help with stuff to my room and said to ring if I needed anything and he hoped I felt better soon. He was so kind & empathetic when I felt so wretched which make him a great member of staff in my eyes to be able to add a individual touch to make guests feel welcome makes him a great credit to your team.

Friendly staff on reception. Room overlooking the bin area of services, very dated, TV from a 1990's caravan which wouldn't get a signal, water pressure so low that flushing the previous evenings £15 M&S sandwich away from the rip off Moto services next door was actually impossible, was constantly itchy, and no internet - paid the extortionate fee and still no service on phone - lady on reception says it's a bad area..bad area? I felt like I had pulled off the M4 and arrived in 1987. Clearly Travelodge have forgotten about this place, absolute toilet, next time I shall sleep in my car.

Aweful, no way I am staying here again. I have stayed in few travelodge but this is the worst ever. Shower soap dispense not working, very disappointing breakfast. When i asked for direction for breakfast bar they gave me a box which had some flakes, milk, flapjack and a juice. Very disappointing.

Honestly it's quiet enough but it's not without it's flaws . We didn't get off to a great start by finding out you had to go some 11 miles down to the next junction to go back up on the east bound side. If there's a back way in its not clear. That put me on a downer straight away. Not specifically travel lodges fault. The hotel on walking in is very dated and you could probably tell that by the building . The room itself has had a refit but merely a papering over the cracks style refurbishment ( the bathroom had a hole in the wall ) it just felt very 1990s stopping at my grandmother's vibe . We ordered a family room and although the main bed was large the single beds were camp bed size not comfortable at all. I always think family rooms should have 2 doubles and an option for a single camp bed In short typical side of motorway hole.

We had a nice quiet stay, this is at a motorway services but is tucked away from the noise of the traffic .The booking in was easy and the staff were very friendly.The main downside for us was we had an accessible room because my wife is disabled, but the bathroom was not a wet room,and had a lowbath, but she could not use it .I later found out it's because this is an older hotel and has not been upgraded yet.

Sam is een topper! Nog nooit zo welkom gevoeld. Locatie is top. En eigen prive doorsteek naar de andere kant van de snelweg. Genoeg parkeerplek. We keken uit op een parkje, begane grond en het was er waanzinnig stil. We konden het bijna niet geloven. Aangrenzend aan het hotel is MOTO. Daar zitten Burger King, KFC, WHSmith, M&S, Greggs en Costa Coffee. Hoeveel faciliteiten wil je naast je hotel hebben? 😍

Booked online before arriving and paid £66 which, compared to other options I thought was quite costly. Difficult to find when you arrive - not marked and you have to go through the HGV route. We then needed to charge our car, asked how to get to the chargers but the receptionist didn't know. Staff were friendly generally. Room was very clean in the bedroom but the bathroom had flecks of toothpaste on the mirror and the toilet didn't flush properly. Bed was comfortable. Great if you are wanting something right off the M4.

The building has a tight layout, hard work to enter and navigate round if you are a wheelchair user. Otherwise a reasonable place to stay while on business etc
